How does a health coach differ from a medical practitioner OR NUTRITIONIST?
When working with a Health Coach, you will learn not only about how diet impacts your health, but will also explore areas of your life including relationships, physical activity, career, and spirituality. You will learn about your own bio-individuality and what food and lifestyle choices work best for you. I do not coach with a "one size fits all" list of foods to eat or not eat. Instead, I will listen to your needs and concerns and together we will proceed, one step at a time, towards your health and wellness goals.
A Health Coach is different from a medical practitioner, in that coaching services are not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any diseases. However, there are many conditions that will benefit from the healthy lifestyle changes that you will experience while working with a Health Coach. Some of these conditions include:
- Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia
- Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD, ADHD
- Autoimmune Diseases
- Cancer Prevention
- Chronic Fatigue
- Chronic Sinusitis
- Depression and Anxiety
- Detoxification and Healing
- Digestive Disorders (IBD, IBS, GERD/Reflux)
- Environmental and Food Allergies
- Female Disorders (PMS, Menopause, Infertility, PCOS)
- Healthy Aging
- Healthy Weight and Metabolism
- Heart Health
- Hormone Balance
- Migraines and Headaches
- MS (Multiple Sclerosis)
- Sleep Issues
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY FREE HEALTH HISTORY CONSULTATION?
A Health History Consultation is an initial consultation that allows us to get a chance to know each other and determine whether or not we want to work together. The session will be approximately 50 minutes long and will review a variety of topics related to lifestyle and health. Topics may include family history, health concerns, exercise habits, lifestyle, career, and diet. The health history questionnaire may be completed in advance of the session, or during the session. The consultation can take place in person, via skype, or over the phone.
