"After decades of working out and 'eating right', I had resigned myself to the fact that I was too old to lose weight anymore. When we met, I was 65 lbs. above what is deemed a healthy weight for my height and frame. My personal trainer suggested I meet with you before giving up completely.

At our first meeting, my approach was to meet a few times and obtain the list of foods I would be allowed/not allowed to eat. I never heard of a Health Coach and my expectations were very low that anything different would happen. However, I also committed to be open to any and all suggestions with the exception of giving up half-n-half in my coffee!  You said you would not tell me what to eat or not eat, but would provide me with information about what I was currently eating, and not eating, and leave me to decide what to do.

Together we have accomplished more than I thought possible. After working together for 8 months I am halfway to my goal weight having lost 33 lbs. As the weight started to come off, I learned to enjoy, not dread, exercise. I spend more time working out and challenging myself in ways I would have rejected in the past.  Through our goal setting, I started having new and fun experiences with my husband, travelling more, reconnecting with old friends and even found a new job this year! I shop in different stores and discovered new foods and aisles in stores I have shopped in for years.  I learned how to enjoy planning and preparing my meals, loving the new foods and ingredients I discovered and trying new recipes. My refrigerator looks like a Tupperware party after my Sunday afternoon meal prep!  And, if that is not enough, I love how just about every time I see you I receive special surprise gifts – just like Christmas!
